The Friends of Taiwan Foundation is a secular, apolitical, and non-profit organization that aims to promote a friendly relationship between the respective people of the United States and Taiwan through various cultural and community appreciation activities.
Taiwan is an island located approximately 180 kilometers (112 miles) off the southeastern coast of mainland China across the Taiwan Strait. Taiwan has a democratic tradition with a unique and vibrant culture.
The Foundation aims to share knowledge of Taiwan with the international society, in particular, the United States, through various cultural and community appreciation activities. The mission of the foundation further focuses on maintaining the friendship between the respective people of Taiwan and the United States in perpetuity. Overall, the foundation aims to promote a better and deeper understanding of Taiwan and her people and to create a long-lasting relationship between the people of Taiwan and the United States.
The Friends of Taiwan was established in 2017 in Illinois, USA. It plans to expand to other metropolitan centers throughout the USA.
